Take a minute and ask yourself:  What if someone I knew had a heart attack, drowned, or stopped breathing.  Would I know what to do in addition to calling 911?

Brain damage can start to occur in just four to six minutes after the heart stops pumping blood.  Death may be prevented if the sudden cardiac arrest victim receives immediate bystander cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation within a few minutes after collapse.  A victim's chance of survival diminishes 10% for every minute that goes by if left untreated.
